Stock 1, Process

Purpose:                     Supply and move material throughout the plant.

Essential functions with indication of % of performance time:

  1. Responsible for operation of lift truck in a safe manner to move material, as required, throughout the plant. Responsible for routine maintenance checks on the lift truck.  (30%)
  2. Responsible for maintaining a constant flow of material to the operator and removing processed parts from the machines. (30%)
  3. Responsible for palletizing cartons on skids according to palletized layout. (15%)
  4. Responsible for routine maintenance checks and proper operation of tape machine. (5%)
  5. Responsible for supplying cartons to operators. (5%)
  6. Responsible for gathering scrap and R/F parts from each machine and placing on appropriate skids. (5%)
  7. Lead by example to build constructive relationships by taking the initiative to make things better. (5%)
  8. Perform other related duties as assigned. (5%)

Mental / Visual Requirement:

Continuous mental and visual requirements when operating lift truck.  Must be able to read process tags and recognize a variety of parts.  Must know sequence of machining processes.  Lift Truck License required.  Ability to communicate to employees and Supervisor.   Ability to get along well with people with many different personalities. Ability to get into a routine.

Physical Demands:

Standing/walking most of the shift.   Moderate to heavy physical labor required to lift and move baskets and cartons of parts.  Ability to use and maintain equipment such as tape machine, stapler, etc.  Ability to lift and move baskets of parts using a hand cart, pallet jack, electric mule, or lift truck.  Boxes of supplies may weigh up to 50 pounds.

Education / Experience:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent required. Some experience operating hand tools and ability to drive lift truck a plus.

Flexbox Press & Processing Stock - 2nd & 3rd Shifts

Purpose:                     

To maintain production requirements and keep department operating effectively.

Essential functions:

  1. Ability to perform stock duties as needed in Flexbox production area including operating lift truck in a safe manner to move material, as required, throughout the plant; maintaining a constant flow of material to the operator and removing processed parts from the machines; palletizing cartons on skids and moving to appropriate areas; maintaining tape machines; supplying and labeling cartons for operators.
  2. Supply presses with material and remove crates of parts when full.
  3. Perform SPC and carton checks.
  4. Supply NEMA presses with material and remove full skids.
  5. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  6. Build constructive relationships by taking the initiative to make things better.

Mental/Visual Requirements:

Continuous mental and visual requirements when operating lift truck.  Must be able to read process tags and recognize a variety of parts.  Must know sequence of machining processes.  Lift Truck License required.  Ability to communicate to employees and Supervisor.  Ability to get along well with people with many different personalities.  Normal and concentrated attention and coordination required to operate processing machines.  Must possess good dexterity skills.  Must be able to complete process tags and perform simple math.  Ability to adapt to meet changing production needs.

Injection Press Operator

Purpose:                     Operate injection press(es) in order to produce a quality part in a reasonable amount of time.

Essential functions:

  1. Run & maintain multiple presses
  2. Responsible for start up & shut down of presses
  3. Able to identify & correct any press problems that may occur
  4. Keep press logs up to date with accurate information (press settings, adjustments, material formulations, etc.).
  5. Use quality plans & boards, pin gauges, etc.
  6. Use tools such as drill, hammer, pick, pry bar, putty knife, etc.
  7. Able to drill out the sprue holes inside of hot molds
  8. Able to operate a robotic ear-loader
  9. Clean the inside of hot molds with dry ice at scheduled intervals and as needed with tools provided.
  10. Read & interpret heat layouts & quality plans
  11. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  12. Build constructive relationships by taking the initiative to make things better.

Mental / Visual Requirement:

Normal and concentrated attention and coordination required using tools to set up and adjust machines properly. Ability to communicate to employees and Supervisor.

Physical Demands:

Ability to drill out the sprue holes inside of molds for an extended period of time.  Ability to lift and move baskets of parts and boxes of bulk molding using hand carts, and pallet jack.  Boxes of supplies may weigh up to 50 pounds. Ability to walk for long periods of time. Summer temperatures can be warm in this area.

Process Relief

Purpose:    Perform quality inspections and any job in Flexbox Assembly to maintain production requirements and keep department operating effectively.

Essential functions with indication of % of performance time:

  1. Ability to operate high volume machines in processing efficiently while maintaining the standard rate. (50%)
  2. Ability to perform Stock 1 duties as needed in processing area including operating lift truck in a safe manner to move material, as required, throughout the plant; maintaining a constant flow of material to the operator and removing processed parts from the machines; palletizing cartons on skids; operation and maintenance of tape machines; supplying cartons to operators; etc. (30%)
  3. Ability to perform RGA , vapor seal checks, and packaged carton checks. (10%)
  4. Perform other related duties as assigned. (5%)
  5. Build constructive relationships by taking the initiative to make things better. (5%)

AMG Tool and Die Maker

AMG is the Tool and Die group within Allied Moulded Products and is located by our Plant 1 location in Bryan, OH.

Purpose:  This position, under minimal direction, is responsible and accountable for ensuring molds, dies and miscellaneous machining projects are manufactured and maintained to perform to Company standards. They are responsible to plan steps required for set up, manufacturing, and build of new mold and die components, existing mold and die repair, and fixtures.

Essential Functions:

  1. Follow all safety rules. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  2. Read and understand CAD drawings and tolerancing and able to navigate in 3D CAD environment.
  3. Write or adjust CNC programs using CAM software or at machine console.
  4. Plan out multi-step machining projects and sequence work to complete projects in the most time efficient way.
  5. Setup and use conventional tools and equipment, NC equipment, CNC equipment and EDM equipment to make and/or repair mold components, fixturing or special machining projects based on provided direction.
  6. Move and manipulate molds and dies using overhead crane and forklift.
  7. Complete standard preventive maintenance tasks on molds and dies.
  8. Accurately troubleshoot minor and major mold and die problems and determine appropriate fixes.
  9. Final fit mold and die details by machining or grinding to meet design specifications.
  10. Accurately inspect work performed using conventional inspections tools and gauges.
  11. Plan work on applicable machines to maximize lights out/unattended machining.
  12. Utilize hard milling when appropriate.
  13. Use the applicable modules in IQMS to clock in/out, task time, create PO requisitions, pull tool crib items, create/close MRO work orders, move molds, and use other modules as needed.
  14. Complete tasks and assignment in a timely and efficient manner.
  15. Demonstrate willingness to learn and expand skill set to advance to next level in AMG.
  16. Participate in design reviews, FMEAs, continuous improvement teams as needed.
  17. Work well with engineers, quality, production and other machinists.
  18. Serves as a mentor, when assigned, as part of the AMG mentor program
  19. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Mental/Visual Requirements:

Ability to stay focused in a busy environment to avoid mistakes and maintain safety is critical. Good

close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception and the ability to see colors and adjust focus are required.

 

Physical Demands:

This position requires constant standing, use of hands and fingers, and eye-hand coordination.

This position also requires frequent walking, talking, hearing, and occasional sitting, turning,

twisting, bending at waist and reaching with hands and arms. Incumbent must be able to

frequently lift and carry up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

 

Education/Experience:

Mandatory:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Minimum of four years’ experience in a machining work environment

Recommended:

  • CNC specific training, or CNC/Machinists certificate or degree
  • Prior experience working on molds and/or dies

Must satisfy one of the options below:

  • Three years of prior experience running CNC equipment, or
  • Completion of applicable AMG mentoring programs
